Bondoc previously served as vice president for Pagcor’s Corporate Social Responsibility Group from October 2017 to July 2021. He will serve the remainder of the term of office of late director Reynaldo E. Concordia, which was due to end in July 2022.
In addition to filling the place left after Concordia’s death, Bondoc hopes to provide more support to the ongoing Pagcor initiatives.
Bondoc said: “Former Director Concordia used to actively take part in PAGCOR’s Corporate Social Responsibility programs. I will offer my services in memory of him and to serve our chairman’s best intentions.
“Being in this new position will allow me to make policy adjustments that will further enhance PAGCOR’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programs and hopefully, the agency’s revenue generation capacity amidst the ongoing pandemic.”
Pagcor has helped to oversee the growth of igaming in the Philippines so far this year, after granting both Tiger Resorts and Jade Entertainment online gaming licences. The country’s gaming industry also reported a dramatic upturn in gaming revenue during the second quarter of 2021, thanks to reduced Covid-19 restrictions when compared to the same period of 2020.
