The Supervisory Authority conducted an inspection in 2021. This found that the business had posted a number of claims on its website that were deemed as encouragements to gamble.
This included statements such as “Bet whether Kaunas Žalgiris will triumph in the LKL championship and whether Žalgiris will advance to the Euroleague final four”, “With Top Sport you can place a wide range of sports bets”, “Guess how far Vilnius Rytas will go in the FIBA Champions League and whether it will advance to the LKL final” and “Choose one of more than 400 games and take your impressive winnings”.
These, the Supervisory Authority said, were thus violations of the ban on gambling promotion that was brought in last year, which prohibits any inducements to gamble including bonuses. As a result, it issued a €25,000 fine.
The decision may still be appealed in Lithuania’s courts.
Other operators that have fallen foul of the ban on gambling promotion since it came into force include Enlabs and 7Bet.
