Gaming and sports betting industry lawyer Chantal Cipriano, amid recently legalized single-game wagering

he global online gaming operator PointsBet announced today the expansion of its corporate profile in the north american country with the appointment of Chantal Cipriano as Vice President, Legal, Compliance & People.

After the single-event sports betting bill, Bill C-218, received Royal Assent in Canada, long-time Toronto resident Cipriano spoke about the opportunities that now unfold for the country’s market.

She also analyzed the country’s betting landscape and assured that it “will evolve at a rapid pace”.

Prior to her appointment as vice-president, Chantal Cipriano was a lawyer in the Toronto office of Dickinson Wright, where she provided strategic legal advice to clients involved in the land-based and online gambling industries. Her practice focused on advising of the requirements related to licensing, compliance and governance, and risk mitigation.

She was also Senior Director of Legal & Compliance at Mazooma. There, she provided real-time, bank account level data intelligence and bank-verified payment processing for licensed online gaming and sports betting operators in regulated U.S. markets.

Cipriano is also a published author of the Canada chapter for LexisNexis’ Gaming Law and Practice Book, Chambers and Partners’ Gaming, Gambling and Licensing Practice Guide for Canada, and various articles in gaming publications.
