asinos in South Africa are allowed to reopen as of Monday, as the country moves to Level 3 Lockdown. However, all venues will be limited to a 50% occupancy capacity and must close at 9 pm due to the fact that curfew is still in effect from 10 pm to 4 am.
The latest regulations were published on Sunday night after President Cyril Ramaphosa announced a move back from adjusted Level 4.
Restaurants, bars, and taverns are also allowed to open their doors but are “subject to a limitation of a maximum of 50 persons or less for indoor venues or 100 persons outdoors observing a distance of at least one and a half meters from each other“. If the venue cannot hold 50 people with adequate social distancing, it should only function at 50% of its normal capacity, reports News24.
Cinemas, theatres, galleries, museums, libraries, archives, public swimming pools, and beaches, as well as parks, aquariums, zoos, gyms, and fitness centers, are also allowed to open, but spectators at sporting events remain banned and nightclubs closed.
