Its first IR in Cotai has received the government’s approval for 150 gaming tables

JM Holdings’s first integrated resort in Cotai, the Grand Lisboa Palace will hold a partial opening on Friday, July 30, with around 300 hotel rooms.

When fully opened the hotel will have 1,900 hotel rooms and suites across three hotels, the Grand Lisboa Palace, the Palazzo Versace and the Karl Lagerfeld, as well as facilities for conferences, shopping, dining, and entertainment.

The announcement was made by Daisy Ho Chiu Fung, SJM’s chairman and executive director on Wednesday, who hopes that some restaurants will be opened by Friday. She said the dining establishments are on their last stages of licensing by the Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO).

Ho also revealed that the property has already received government approval for 150 gaming tables. She also said that SJM hopes to be fully open by the end of this year, with the second phase depending on the pandemic and travel restrictions, reports Macau Business.

Ho made the remarks after Wednesday’s event to describe the art pieces specially commissioned for the Grand Lisboa Palace. Seven local Macao artists including will have their artworks on show at the new property.

When inquired if the gaming operator was looking to manage a casino at the nearby Lisboeta property as previously hinted by executive director, Ambrose So, Ho said: “We are now focused on the opening of GLP, once we have we will start looking at that possibility.”
