he decree from Venezuela’s Ministry of Popular Power for the Interior and Justice, to which the CNC belongs, said that “the Board of Directors of the National Commission of Casinos, Bingo Rooms and Slot Machines (CNC for its initials in Spanish) informs the companies that have Installation Licenses for the activity under the control of this Commission, must implement the Comprehensive Management Administration System (Monitoreo) that will serve for interconnection in real-time for the purposes of controlling this activity”.

“It should be noted that our OPERATING PARTNER will be in charge of implementing the aforementioned system in each of the facilities where the operation of the activity of casinos, bingo halls, and slot machines takes place”, read the text of the regulations.

“For further contact information of our OPERATING PARTNER, each of the companies that have the respective Licenses granted by this Commission will be notified after compliance with the requirements established in the Law for the Control of Casinos, Rooms of Bingo and Slot Machines”, the Venezuelan authorities decreed.

Last week, Venezuela surprised the international market with the offer of licenses for thirty new casinos in its territory.

The country has a law that was enacted in 1997, which determines that the National Commission of Casinos has the power to grant licenses, and among the requirements, it determines that each site must be located in an area declared as “touristic” by the authorities.

The government enabled at least 30 gambling establishments or casinos, as it was known from an unofficial source, following former President Hugo Chávez’s order in 2011 to close all casinos and bingo halls, as he considered them to be sites of “perdition” that only served to enrich the “bourgeois”.
