inners, Inc. subsidiary VegasWINNERS has received provisional registration as a sports wagering service provider from the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board Bureau of Licensing, announced the company last Thursday.
By having secured this registration, the subsidiary, which provides content, analysis, research, data and guidance to sports betting fans, is now able to refer customers in the state to licensed sportsbooks in return for commission payments.
The Gaming Control Board listed the company as a registered gaming service provider following investigation and pending final approval by the board. As a result, VegasWINNERS is “immediately eligible to conduct affiliate marketing services” for its Pennsylvania partners, states the company in a press release.
“We’re honored to receive a provisional registration as a sports wagering service provider in Pennsylvania,” said Wayne Allyn Root, CEO of VegasWINNERS. “I’m proud to say we are now registered or approved to send bettors to licensed sportsbooks in nine states.”
The State of Pennsylvania is home to more than 12 million people, as well as some of the country’s most beloved sports teams. The combination of both these factors results in the state being one of the top sports betting markets in the US, in terms of revenue generation.
The company expects to now expand its offering to this state as part of its business strategy. “This was always our vision,” added Allyn Root on the nine markets VegasWINNERS has now reached. “The plan is becoming the reality.”
The Pennsylvania market has grown rapidly since its initial launch in November 2018, retaining its position as the third-largest sports wagering market in US since 2019. It reported an annual betting handle of just under $1.5 billion that year.
Despite the challenges imposed by the pandemic, both on bettors and sportsbooks, the state finished 2020 with $3.5 billion in sports bets placed, a year-over-year growth of 140%. The company considers this to be a sign of the Pennsylvania market’s capacity to show resilience.
“It is the intent of VegasWINNERS to get licensed in all states that allow online sports gambling,” said the sports gaming affiliate in its press statement. The company currently has made applications in additional states and is currently registered in West Virginia, Indiana, Colorado, New Jersey, Tennessee, and Pennsylvania. It is also able to operate in Nevada, Illinois and Iowa.
