ustrian gaming technology group NOVOMATIC has renewed certification according to the internationally recognized G4 standards of the Global Gaming Guidance Group, announced the company last Friday.
By having secured once more international G4 certification for its player and youth protection standards, the group claims to live the practice of responsible gaming at the highest level in all business areas.
“Not only as an operator of international gaming venues, but also as a technology supplier exporting worldwide, the successful certification according to the highest international player protection standards is also a valuable recognition of NOVOMATIC’s great efforts in this important area,” said Executive Board Member Johannes Gratzl.
Established by experts in the field of gambling addiction prevention and responsible gaming in 2003, the G4 standards go beyond local legal requirements, being thus internationally recognized in their field. NOVOMATIC was the first Austrian gaming company to be certified according to them.
Not only NOVOMATIC AG but also its subsidiaries with the highest turnover in Austria, Germany, Great Britain and the Netherlands are already G4-certified, explained the group in a press release. This emphasizes “the full commitment” and great importance of player protection across all operations.
The company’s compliance with the standards is audited every three years on the basis of around 100 criteria from all business areas, ranging from internal guidelines to staff training, player and youth protection, responsible marketing activities, customer education about the risks of gambling, and options for self-limitation or even self-exclusion.
The NOVOMATIC group currently employs around 21,000 staff worldwide and has locations in more than 45 countries and exports electronic gaming equipment and solutions to about 90 countries. It also operates around 214,000 gaming terminals and VLTs in its some 1,900 plus gaming operations as well as via rental concepts.
The company puts “Success can only be achieved by assuming responsibility” as a guiding principle at the center of its Corporate Responsibility activities, with the vision to be “the most innovative and responsible” provider.
On June 30, NOVOMATIC again placed as the second most valuable brand in Austria, in the 18th edition of the Austrian Brand Value Awards, ranking behind undisputed winner Red Bull and ahead of the renowned B2C brand Swarovski. In spite of reduced revenues in its 40th anniversary year 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic effects, the group was able to post a brand value of €2.9 billion.
