laytech has signed a multi-state agreement in U.S. with Unibet Interactive, announced the company on Thursday. By having secured this partnership, the gambling technology group will provide its RNG Casino software to the Kindred Group’s company in New Jersey, with further states to follow “in the coming months,” according to a press release.

“We are delighted to announce this exciting step in Playtech’s U.S. growth,” said Shimon Akad, Playtech Chief Operating Officer. “Unibet delivers a fantastic entertainment experience to their U.S. customers, and we are proud to partner with them to deliver Playtech’s casino software as part of their market-leading offering, starting in New Jersey.”

The partnership with Unibet is the next step in Playtech’s expansion throughout the country’s market. “Unibet has established a market-leading product offering to its customers in New Jersey, which will be further bolstered by a range of Playtech’s best-performing RNG Casino software,” said the company, while looking forward to entering new states.

The company is already live in the state through agreements with Bet365 and BetMGM. It also has operations in other states such as Michigan, Pennsylvania and Indiana through Parx Interactive. Meanwhile, Unibet is live in Pennsylvania, Indiana and Virginia. It has not been confirmed if these are the additional states in which Playtech could launch via the new deal.

“To add Playtech Casino software to our portfolio in New Jersey is very exciting,” said Manuel Stan, SVP Kindred Group US. “Partnering with Playtech enables us to offer our online casino customers a selection of some of the best quality content, and we look forward to further collaborating with Playtech across more U.S. states in the future.”

On Wednesday, Playtech announced it has entered an agreement to sell its Finalto business to Gopher Investments for $250 million, an all-cash transaction expected to be completed in H1 2022.

The disposal aligns with its strategy to simplify the group, as well as unlocking significant capital. It is expected the deal will allow Playtech to focus on its technology offering as a pure-play business in the B2B and B2C gambling markets, via actions such as the newly announced deal.
