FanDuel Sportsbook announced Thursday the signing of a $120 million, 4-year sponsorship deal with retired NFL punter and sports media personality Pat McAfee for his sports-based YouTube channel and SiriusXM talk show.
The news was confirmed by “Pat McAfee Show” CFO Phil Mains, who detailed the deal will be worth $30 million annually, with an option on the final year. The show will move its headquarters to a new Indiana complex known as the “FanDuel Igloo”, as FanDuel wrote in a press release.
The show has 1.57 million subscribers on YouTube and daily episodes often net upward of 300,000 views, while the podcast ranks sixth on Apple’s sports podcast charts.
During his show on Thursday, McAfee spoke about this new deal and said: “To be candid and transparent, this is a hilarious amount of money. Somebody like me is not supposed to be getting this money, but I also know that this money is going to go to somebody”.
The former punter and kickoff specialist signed contracts worth $19 million over the course of his eight-year NFL career. He retired in 2016 before taking a job with sports media giant Barstool Sports. He left in 2018 and his show is now on Sirius XM’s Mad Dog Sports Radio and on YouTube.
