The Southern Nevada Health District and Clark County are set to open drive-thru Covid-19 testing sites in the parking garages of two Las Vegas casinos. The selected venues to hold temporary testings are Texas Station and Fiesta Henderson, both owned by Station Casinos and still closed to the public due to the pandemic.
The testing sites will be open for 21 days, and will have support from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS), reports Fox5 Vegas. The DHHS has contracted healthcare technology company eTrueNorth to operate them.
The decision to open the two drive-thru sites was taken in response to a local surge in testing demand, says the Southern Nevada Health District. The sites are available by appointment, and people can register through the eTrueNorth website: www.INeedaCOVID19Test.com. People can register for their appointment three days prior to their preferred date.

In an effort to accommodate the heavy demand for testing in the region, the sites will operate as appointment-only, and will offer “approximately 4,000 tests each day.” The additional testing resources were requested by Clark County, the Southern Nevada Health District and the State of Nevada.
The Texas Station operation will open to the public at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, January 12, on the first floor of the resort’s parking garage on the south side of the property, at 2101 Texas Star Lane, off Rancho Drive and Coran Lane. The site will operate five days a week, 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday through Sunday.
Meanwhile, the drive-thru operation at the Fiesta Henderson casino resort will open at 3 p.m. on Saturday, January 15, at 777 W. Lake Mead Parkway. The site will operate five days a week, 12 p.m. to 8 p.m., Saturday through Wednesday.
“These new sites will provide more accessibility for Southern Nevadans who are looking for testing in Clark County,” said Dr. Fermin Leguen, District Health Officer for the Southern Nevada Health District. “Testing remains an important tool to ensure people have the ability to take the steps they need to protect themselves, their families and our community.”
Given a higher demand for testing in the community at this time, the Southern Nevada Health District warns people may experience longer wait times at existing sites, or be directed to other locations if daily capacities are reached. Appointments are recommended at most sites: while walk-in appointments may be accepted, they are based on availability.
“As COVID-19 cases surge here and elsewhere around the world, Clark County and partnering jurisdictions and agencies are working together to combine resources to meet the needs of our community,” said Clark County Commission Chairman Jim Gibson, whose commission district includes the city of Henderson. “We are grateful to Station Casinos and our local, state and federal partners for helping us mobilize to offer more testing resources in the community.”
