Independent gaming certification lab and product certification consultancy BMM Testlabs on Sunday announced it has promoted Yi Miin Heng to the position of Client Services Manager for Asia, while Paul Petrella has been promoted to the position of Compliance Manager in Australia.
Heng joined BMM in 2014 as Team Leader, PSD, before accepting the new role, where he will report to the Executive Vice President in Asia.
“I’m very pleased to promote Yi Miin Heng into this Client Services role to support our customers in the region,” said Kirk White, EVP and General Manager APAC & AF. “Yi Miin has over 12 years of experience on our technical services teams in Asia and Australia, covering both land-based and iGaming market segments.”
White further said Yi Miin “understands the value of a working partnership with customers,” and that the executive provides on-time certifications and great market intelligence support for international expansion.
“This is a great opportunity for me to share my wealth of knowledge in technical compliance and market access requirements, both locally and internationally, with our many customers across Asia,” commented Yi Miin Heng. “I’m very excited to be using my specialized skills to support and guide our customers, and to help them achieve smooth product certifications and market transfer processes to any market they request.”
Meanwhile, Petrella rejoined BMM in 2013 as Group Manager, before accepting a Senior Group Manager of Wagering Systems role and now the Compliance Manager role, where he will report to the Executive Vice President in Australia.
“We are excited to have Paul Petrella taking on this extra responsibility for our organization, adding to his existing duties as Senior Group Manager of Wagering Systems,” said White. “Paul has been a valued BMM employee for over 20 years and is well-equipped for this role with his technical experience covering gaming machines, online gaming, monitoring and jackpot systems, wagering, sports betting, and lottery systems.”
The new Compliance Manager said he was “delighted” to be adding this role to his responsibilities for BMM Australia, which he sees as “a critical and high-value” role internally and externally, supporting regulators and customers alike.
“Working in several of BMM’s global offices has provided me with extensive technical and compliance knowledge, covering local and international markets,” commented Petrella. “I look forward to sharing this knowledge to ensure BMM continues to be the best and most-knowledgeable independent testlab service in the market.”
BMM is an established private independent gaming certification lab, which has been providing professional technical and regulatory compliance services to the industry since 1981. The systems-expert company has provided consulting for and tested many of the largest gaming networks and systems over the last four decades.
The company, which authored the first set of independent gaming standards in 1992 and the first set of online gaming standards in 2001, currently employs over 500 people in 13 global locations and serves over 470 gaming jurisdictions.
Despite the hit taken by the industry from the Covid-19 pandemic, BMM expects this year to be one of further recovery. “We are very confident that 2022 will be a very good year for the gaming industry,” Marzia Turrini, Executive Vice President EURSAM for BMM Testlabs, told Yogonet in an interview in December.
Turrini described Latin America as one of the markets showing “promising signals,” with several countries in the process of regulation and opening. “In fact, many global gaming companies are already present in Latin America, which is an excellent sign,” the executive added.
