The Navajo Nation Gaming Enterprise (NNGE) -the business arm of the Navajo Nation- and the Seminole Tribe of Florida’s Hard Rock have launched Hard Rock Sportsbook in Arizona. Both parties celebrated the debut of the new sports wagering product, which took place on Friday.

The new mobile sportsbook is now available in the Grand Canyon State. It provides fans aged 21 and over access to bets across major sporting events, promotions and best-in-class customer support, a press release says. The enhanced platform also includes more sports to bet live, same-game parlays and new reward features.

“Arizona has a rich sports culture and we’re proud to enter the state with our great partners at Navajo Gaming,” said Marlon Goldstein, Executive Managing Director & CEO for Hard Rock Digital. “We’re excited to debut our new platform, which players of all experience levels will appreciate for its ease of use, unique features and robust gaming options. Legendary service is part of Hard Rock’s ethos, and we believe our commitment to customer support will help us stand out in this competitive market.”

The mobile app is available for download on iOS and Android devices, and can be utilized by fans physically located within the state. Currently, mobile sports betting is not permitted on tribal lands, in accordance with the Navajo Nation and Arizona State Gaming Compact.

“We could not be more pleased or proud of our partnership with Hard Rock Digital. The quality and functionality of the mobile platform are outstanding, and we are anticipating great opportunities to cross-market the Navajo Nation Gaming Enterprise (NNGE) with a premiere gaming-hospitality operator and the world-renowned Hard Rock brand,” offered Brian Parrish, Interim Chief Executive Officer for the NNGE.

The Navajo Nation first announced a partnership with Hard Rock Digital for the sportsbook launch in Arizona earlier this year, on January 27. Both parties are seeking to provide exclusive marketing promotions and cross-marketing offers unique to the Navajo and Hard Rock brands, by also leveraging Navajo’s brick-and-mortar operations in the state: the NNGE runs five gaming and hospitality facilities across both Arizona and New Mexico.

Launched in 2020 as the exclusive iGaming and sports betting brand of the Seminole tribe, Hard Rock Digital already serves bettors in New Jersey and Iowa through the Hard Rock Sports & Casino NJ and the Hard Rock Sportsbook Iowa apps, respectively. The deal expands the product to a third state, following failed plans to launch in Florida.

“They’ve done it before and they’ve got an excellent product, proven in New Jersey and Iowa,” Interim CEO for NNGE Brian Parrish told Yogonet on why they partnered with Hard Rock in an interview held in February. “It’s also operated in Florida, and we think it’s going to be a great partnership for us not only in Arizona, but expanding it to New Mexico, where we have additional operations.”

The executive further described the partnership as a “chance to jumpstart all of our development again,” and discussed plans to further collaborate on brick-and-mortar retail sportsbook operations. “This is not short-term: we are patient, we are deliberate and we’ve got a long-term strategy to build on the successes that we create,” Parrish said.
