Gaming content and technology heavyweight Aristocrat announced Monday it has signed a deal to acquire Roxor Gaming, a B2B online Real Money Gaming (RMG) supplier. The brand is a subsidiary of the privately held London-based Anzo Group. Financial terms of the deal have not been disclosed.
As explained by the company, Roxor’s Remote Game Server (RGS) and publishing technology is set to accelerate Aristocrat’s strategy to grow and scale in online RMG. The brand’s technology is live in the US and UK markets, and “is innovative, highly scalable, and supports efficient and feature-rich games and game development.” Roxor was founded in 2019 by former Gamesys Chairman and co-founder Noel Hayden.
Noel Hayden, Executive Chairman of the Roxor Gaming Board, commented: “I am delighted to see this deal signed as I feel it brings together two great companies that complement each other perfectly. Roxor holds a very important place in my heart as the team and the games we have built, have delivered so much to so many over the last twenty years. I couldn’t be more excited for Roxor Gaming and the road ahead.”
The transaction also involves the acquisition of Roxor’s two in-house game development studios, a move set to bring further online RMB-specific technical and product development talent to the group. Roxor has more than 100 employees who are primarily based in the UK. The brand also has “a deep affiliate network” with extensive online RMG experience that Aristocrat will benefit from.
The acquisition is expected to be complete in the first quarter of calendar year 2023, subject to regulatory approvals and customary closing conditions. Aristocrat will fund the transaction from existing cash. It is not expected to have a material earnings impact.
Mitchell Bowen, CEO, Online RMG, Aristocrat, said: “Roxor is a great fit for Aristocrat, and this acquisition is another step forward in Aristocrat’s strategy to scale in online RMG. We look forward to growing together with the talented Roxor team.”
Roxor Gaming previously operated as the in-house studio and product team of Gamesys, and since its independent launch, it rolled out content with a view to expanding in North America and the UK. For Aristocrat, the deal marks a new step in its efforts to grow in the real-money online gaming space.
Josh Morris, General Manager, Roxor Gaming, added: “This deal has happened at the perfect time for Roxor Gaming as we look to expand and grow through new partnerships in the US and UK markets. Aristocrat has a huge heritage of global success and I feel that the combination of Roxor and Aristocrat brings a significant opportunity to build the most entertaining and widely adopted iGaming solution.”

Earlier this month, set to contribute to Aristocrat’s footprint in the US, the brand announced a multi-year partnership with the NFL’s New England Patriots, making Aristocrat an Official Partner of the Patriots and Gillette Stadium.
The news of this partnership follows Aristocrat Gaming’s recent announcement of their exclusive multi-year slot machine licensing agreement to build land-based NFL-themed slot machines. “The NFL license offers a unique opportunity for fans to select their favorite teams, such as the Patriots, when using land-based gaming machines,” the company said in a press release.
