Pragmatic Play revamps one of its most popular titles in John Hunter and the Book of Tut Respin

iGaming content provider Pragmatic Play announced Monday it has expanded its John Hunter franchise of games with the release of John Hunter and the Book of Tut Respin.

Played across 5×3 reels, John Hunter and the Book of Tut Respin sees the return of synonymous symbols like King Tut, scarabs and John Hunter himself, which must form matching combinations across the game’s 10 paylines to award a win.

At any time during base game spins, a mystery symbol can be selected and will expand vertically to fill a reel if three or more are landed. This triggers a respin where additional expanding symbols can also be landed. The respin round ends when no more mystery symbols are achieved or the screen is filled.

Landing three or more Scatters triggers the free spins round where 10 spins are awarded. Here, a mystery symbol is chosen to be the expanding symbol throughout the session and landing three or more, as in the base game, awards a respin and additional chances to land more expanding symbols.

This reimagining of the original John Hunter Book of Tut “offers additional ways to win and innovative mystery respin mechanics to both the base game and bonus round,” the company stated. 

The launch follows the release of the jungle-themed slot Aztec Blaze, announced last week. The slot is set across 6×4 reels and features symbols depicting various beasts including crocodiles, monkeys, and snakes which must form matching combinations across the title’s 25 paylines to award a win.
