Event organizer Clarion Gaming announced that with the help of The Mob Museum, and in order to promote its presence at G2E Las Vegas on stand 5538, they have secured the loan of a Columbia 1-cent slot machine. The artifact dates back to the mid-1930s and is part of the extensive collection of exhibits that are on show at the Museum.
The organizers of the renowned ICE London, whose next edition will take place on February 7-9, announced that visitors to the stand will be able to view the historic slot which was produced by the Groetchen Tool & Mfg. Co. of Chicago and which displays images of fruit, bells, and bars that reads ‘Columbia.’ The visible jackpot bank displayed pennies previously paid into the machine.

Clarion Gaming Managing Director Stuart Hunter said the appearance of a piece of gambling industry history will provide a platform to discuss future initiatives impacting ICE. He said: “We are coming to G2E to meet with the industry and our many friends in North America in order to explain the exciting plans that we have for the development of the ICE show in London.”
“I’m delighted to confirm that 2023 will represent the first full-scale edition of ICE since 2020. All of the major suppliers and innovators are returning after a Covid-enforced absence and such is the demand for space that the 2023 event is on course to be the biggest on record – which represents great news for all sections of the global industry,” Hunter added. “We hope visitors will come on to the stand to see a piece of history and leave excited by our plans for the future.”

The Clarion Gaming team also hosted over 200 gaming industry professionals who participated in the ICE London 2023 Ampersand event, which took place on October 10, on the opening day of G2E at Top Golf Las Vegas. Insights arising from the ‘Open Space’ style gathering will be fed into the ICE development program, “helping to ensure that the show remains totally relevant” to the needs of the sectors.
