Formula 1 held Saturday a launch party in Las Vegas ahead of the 2023 Grand Prix in “Sin City.” The Las Vegas Grand Prix will appear on the F1 calendar for the first time in history next year, with the temporary street circuit due to incorporate the famous Strip.

Fans flocked to the celebration, which officially launched the 2023 Las Vegas Grand Prix. During the event, the Mercedes duo composed of Hamilton and George Russell were present, along with Red Bull’s Sergio Perez, and Williams racer Alex Albon, showcasing their driving skills. As reported by Mirror.co.uk, Hamilton performed doughnuts to the delight of the crowd.

F1 CEO and President Stefano Domenicali said: “We are thrilled to welcome our fans to the launch of the 2023 Las Vegas Grand Prix. It is going to become a regular fixture in the city and on the global sporting calendar, so it is important to have local fans both celebrated and celebrating with us from the very start.”

Attendees at the event got the chance to take part in the Formula 1 Pit Stop Challenge, the F1 Esports simulators, and car and trophy photo opportunities. Then came the live car run on Las Vegas Boulevard, followed by a drone show above Caesars Palace. Drivers and teams were officially introduced on the main stage, before the after-party started with Swedish DJ Alesso at the OMNIA nightclub.

Next year will mark the first Formula 1 race held in the city since Caesars Palace Grand Prix, which was held in the early 80s. However, attending next year’s race won’t be cheap: the most economic ticket for all three days starts at $505, limited to just standing room in general admission.

The surge in Formula 1 popularity is also accompanied by a rising interest in betting in the league. Back in October, sports betting and gaming group Entain shared compiled data showing ‘a clear surge in popularity’ when it comes to F1 bets, with a record-breaking year on the cards for 2022.

Data between 2018 and 2022 reveals the total number of Entain customers betting on Formula 1 increased by 50% during the four-year period. The total number of bets on each season has also grown by 30%.
