Online gambling operator TonyBet announced Tuesday it has received a license from the Dutch Gaming Authority (KSA) to begin operations in the Netherlands, with its launch expected for next year. TonyBet will enter the market with “a modern gambling platform,” tonybet.nl, powered by SoftLabs.
The company offers sports betting services and an online casino, and is based in the Netherlands with a local office in Utrecht. Next year, almost all products allowed in the Netherlands will be presented through its local brand, the company noted.
In the meantime, TonyBet stated in a press release that it will pay special attention to football offers and various entertainment activities, including the local football league. The operators says it will stand out from the crowd with “its fast performance, new design and wide selection of games.”
Jesse Pas, Country Manager of TonyBet in the Netherlands, said: “Adding the Dutch gambling license to our growing portfolio of local licenses was an important objective and we are very proud to have achieved it.”
“Although the competition is very high, but still young in the Netherlands, we are sure that there is room for a strong local player with a distinctive approach. We want to accomplish this by not putting the focal point on the product, but also on what can our brand add to the total gambling experience on and offline,” he added.
TonyBet has already obtained online gaming licenses in several countries such as Spain, Portugal, the UK, Ireland, Canada, Latvia, Estonia and Malta. For now, all focus in the Netherlands is on building a team and assure “a successful launch” next year.
Victor Troitsin, CEO of TonyBet Group, stated: “TonyBet’s development is focused on Canada, Spain, Portugal, UK and Baltic States. We are very excited to enter the promising Dutch market. We are committed to providing players in the Netherlands with safe, secure, innovative and exciting online gaming.”
Troitsin added that the company will “adopt and implement its 12 years of international experience and best practices” for its expected upcoming launch.
KSA created a list of all authorized operators in the country to facilitate the information for online users. By securing a license in the Netherlands, TonyBet joins more than 20 other regulated gambling brands active in the territory. The permit enables it to offer online casino games, sports betting and horse racing wagering to Dutch bettors.
The recent entry in the Netherlands complements TonyBet’s ongoing expansion in the European region. Back in September, the operator entered the Latvian market. In line with its expansion, the operator unveiled a EUR 1.5 million investment to create tonybet.lv, a new online platform catering to customers in the country.
Last month, the company announced a collaboration with the Latvian men’s national handball team, where the operator was designated as the official sponsor of the team. The agreement came ahead of the qualifying matches of EHF Euro 2024.
