International Game Technology (IGT) announced Monday that it has received a ‘B’ score in climate change from environmental non-profit CDP, recognizing the company for “demonstrating improved environmental disclosure and performance.” IGT received a higher-than-average score compared to other information technology and software development companies.
Formerly known as the Carbon Disclosure Project, CDP’s B score recognizes IGT for taking coordinated actions on climate issues and represents an improvement from the company’s 2021 score. Within CDP’s assessment, IGT excelled in several categories, including governance oversight and emission reduction initiatives, notes the company.
Wendy Montgomery, IGT SVP of Marketing, Communications and Sustainability, said: “Over the years, IGT has made great strides to significantly increase our environmental efforts, understanding that it is our responsibility to develop action plans to reduce our carbon footprint.”
“IGT’s commitment to climate change extends to our customers and their sustainable operations. This assessment from CDP assures all stakeholders that we continue to advance the company through our steadfast commitment to sustainability,” she added.

CDP gathers information through an annual reporting process and assesses companies across the globe, inviting companies to share their progress and actions by disclosing climate change, forests, and water security. Companies that receive a B score have addressed the environmental impacts of their business and ensured good environmental management.
Earlier this month, the company confirmed its attendance at the upcoming ICE London 2023. At booth N3-150, the company will showcase its portfolio of games, cabinets, systems, and solutions under the theme “We’ve Got Game”.
