LeoVegas is eyeing to go live in the Dutch market within the second half of 2023, as the operator has now been granted a gaming license for five years in the Netherlands. The license encompasses casino, live casino, and sports betting, and will enable the operator to establish its presence in the re-regulated market.
The company received the license from Dutch regulatory authority KSA (Kansspelautoriteit) through its subsidiary 21 Heads Up Limited. The company is expected to capitalize on the opportunities offered by the market, which has showcased great potential since its recent regulatory overhaul.
Speaking about the license, Gustaf Hagman, CEO of LeoVegas Group, stated: “LeoVegas group has been granted a gaming license in the rapidly growing Dutch market! We are thrilled to look to the future and fully focus on resuming our Dutch journey: the Netherlands has great potential and we look forward to it becoming an important market in our global growth journey.”
Earlier in June, LeoVegas Group secured three new Swedish software licenses, enhancing its B2B efforts and expanding its gaming software offerings in the country. The company has also recently established a presence in Denmark and Germany.
Back in May, the company announced the relaunch of the Expekt brand in Denmark as part of its strategic plan for expansion in the global betting vertical. The reintroduction of “nye expekt” is aimed to reaffirm LeoVegas’ presence in the country after a 10-year absence in the country.
Before that, in March, the company received approval from the GGL to launch its LVSports Limited brand in Germany, which allows it to offer and market virtual slots across all sixteen German states.
