Finnish online casino Finlandia Casino has rebranded to Winlandia as it prepares to expand its reach into core regulated markets across Europe.
As per the company, the decision to rebrand came from a desire to expand internationally, but also to keep pace with the decision to dissolve the gambling monopoly in Finland and open the market to other licensed operators over the coming years.
Following the rebrand, the casino plans to expand to markets such as UK, Sweden, Norway, and Denmark in the first phase. In the second phase, it plans to enter Canada and New Zealand.
It was reported earlier this year that Finland is considering transitioning to a licensing system to achieve a higher “channeling rate” in online gambling. Winlandia plans to be among the first to apply for a license when it becomes available.
Over the span of the last ten years, Finlandia Casino has established itself as a prominent online casino platform for Finnish players, the platform says. According to the company, its player-oriented approach has led to players from other markets signing up to Finlandia and the growing demand has instigated the casino’s decision to undergo a rebranding effort and extend its operations into new markets.
The online casino said it will soon have over 5,500 titles on the platform which will help it offer a wide selection of games in each market.
