Online gambling heavyweight Kindred Group said its share of revenue from harmful gambling has slightly increased to 3.3% in the third quarter of 2023, from 3.1 percent in Q2. In the first quarter, the revenue share from harmful gambling was also 3.3%.
In the past quarter, the company said automated interventions have been rolled out continuously and enhanced features in the safer gambling toolkit have been implemented to provide a more comprehensive responsible gambling journey across Kindred’s brands.
“The data for 2023 indicates that while the trend is consistent, more needs to be done.
While Kindred continues to work actively to achieve a safer gambling experience for all customers, it also recognizes that further steps need to be taken to establish a long-term sustainable industry across all markets,” the company said in a statement.
As per the company, a positive trend is seen across detected customers improving their gambling behavior after an intervention. In the third quarter, 86.7 percent of detected customers improved their behavior after interventions.
In July, the company posted a total revenue of GBP 307.3 million ($396.9 million) for the second quarter of the year, up 29% from the same period last year. However, taking away the earnings made from the Dutch market, the operator recorded a 1% increase, as the Netherlands played an important role in Q2 with revenues of GBP 63.6 million ($82.1 million).
Total revenue for the first half of the year was also up, by 26%, amounting to GBP 613.7 million ($792.5 million).
