Online gaming content provider Greentube is celebrating a new milestone from its Ski Challenge game, as the title has now surpassed 20 million races. The esports game has also officially reached 600,000 downloads since its launch a year ago, noted Novomatic’s Digital Gaming and Entertainment division.
Available to play on iOS and Android, the game is based on Greentube’s first-ever published game, Ski Challenge, from 1998. The modern iteration sees players representing their favorite teams and countries competing head-to-head in organized tournaments with real-money prizes. It features seven of the world’s most famous downhill skiing tracks including Zermatt, Bormio, and Zauchensee.
Players can also collect skill points by winning competitive races, ranking in one of several categories – Bronze, Silver, Gold and Master. In addition to being ranked, players can appear on new time-based leaderboards.
Ski Challenge has been produced in collaboration with three ski associations, Austria’s ÖSV, Swiss-Ski, and Deutscher Skiverband, “adding to the authenticity of a product that has proven to be a major hit with players over the past 12 months.”

The announcement follows the launch last week of 5-Line Hold & Spin, Greentube’s latest slot game. The classic 3-reel, 5-line title harks back to the traditional fruit machine style gameplay, providing players with “a nostalgic gaming experience while offering modern winning opportunities.” The game features a Hold & Spin function, Joker Wilds, and four jackpots.
