The president of Ceuta, Juan Vivas, participated in the ceremony of laying the first stone of the new digital and data processing center (DATA Center) in the Spanish autonomous city, which will be built by the multinational company Avangreen and aims at increasing the competitiveness of said jurisdiction in the field of online gaming.

According to the company, “it is a technological tool that, when it becomes operational, will be able to increase its possibilities of competition in online gambling, which the Ceuta’s administration has bet on, after the Brexit, intending to compete with Gibraltar.”

In this context, Juan Vivas said that it is “a very important step” for the “Ceuta of the future, which is built in green, blue, sustainable, digital and intelligent”. In addition, he thanked the work of the public company Procesa, led by the councilor Kissy Chandiramani, who highlighted his “tenacity, enthusiasm and desire.”

“This project is called to play a driving role in that collective goal of achieving a more solid, stable economic model with greater capacity to generate employment. This is a green economy, digital economy, and will allow companies to improve their competitiveness,” he emphasized.

In this regard, Vivas valued the “audacity and vision” of the CEO of Avangreen, Manuel Gómez, the support of the Government Delegation and the Port Authority, as well as the efforts of the Chamber of Commerce. He also highlighted the “strategic unity to know what to do.”
