MGM Resorts International has announced a series of promotions following the departure of longtime executive Anton Nikodemus, who exited the company to join a subsidiary of Howard Hughes Holdings last month. As a result of his departure, Ayesha Molino and Sean Lanni are taking on Nikodemus’ roles.

Ayesha Molino, who joined MGM Resorts in 2017 and served as the Senior Vice President of Public Affairs, has been promoted to President and Chief Operating Officer of Vdara and Aria. Molino is also recognized for her previous work as Chief Counsel to the late Senator Harry Reid, overseeing gaming policies. She will continue her involvement in MGM Resorts’ communication, government, and public affairs operations.

Meanwhile, Sean Lanni has been appointed President and COO of The Cosmopolitan, taking up the role on April 1. Lanni, who has been with MGM Resorts since 2007, retains his position as President of International Marketing for the company, bringing experience in financial analysis, development, and marketing.

These promotions follow Nikodemus’s departure, who oversaw operations at CityCenter, The Cosmopolitan, Vdara, and Aria. He will soon take on the role of CEO at Seaport Entertainment, a Howard Hughes Holdings spin-off, focusing on entertainment operations, including the potential development of a casino at the Fashion Show Mall.

Additionally, MGM Resorts announced a leadership change at Mandalay Bay and Luxor. Chuck Bowling, who served as President and COO of these properties for over 25 years, will retire on June 1 and serve as a consultant for the company.

Travis Lunn, with experience at MGM Resorts since 2013 and leadership roles in various properties, including MGM Grand and most recently Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa in Atlantic City, New Jersey, will replace Bowling.
