Rivers Casino Philadelphia opened its luxury boutique hotel, Riversuites, at the renovated PECO power plant on the Delaware River waterfront on Wednesday, with a grand opening ceremony. The hotel, which started accepting bookings earlier this week, makes Rivers the third casino in Greater Philadelphia to offer hotel rooms to its customers.
With 62 apartment-style suites, the hotel occupies four floors of The Battery, a $154 million redevelopment of a historic Delaware River Generating Station. Casino players can conveniently reach the hotel with a five-minute stroll on the Delaware Riverwalk or a quick 3-minute drive using the casino’s complimentary 24/7 shuttle. For those who prefer to drive, valet parking is also an available option.
Designed by Chicago’s Koo Architecture, the hotel features suites available in one-, two-, and three-room configurations, with the largest spanning over 2,200 square feet. Each suite is equipped with a full kitchen, and many include patios for added comfort. The hotel showcases amenities such as an indoor basketball court, pool table, lobby gathering spaces, and captivating views of the Delaware River.
The Riversuites is one of two hotels located within The Battery, a sprawling 500,000-square-foot complex in Fishtown. Additionally, The Switch House, a 45-room hotel operated by Cescaphe Event Group, is part of the complex and features a 100,000-square-foot event space suitable for weddings and other special occasions. Apart from the two hotels, The Battery also plans to host 172 apartments and 1,35,000 square feet of office space.
The other two casinos in the city that provide lodging options are the Valley Forge Casino Resort in Montgomery County and the Hotel Philadelphia in the South Philadelphia Sports Complex.
