Daytona Beach Racing & Card Club is gearing up for its biggest poker tournament yet in April, featuring the highly anticipated Moneymaker Poker Tour with poker legend Chris Moneymaker.
Scheduled from April 17 to 29, the event promises a hefty $600,000 in guaranteed prizes across 12 trophy rounds, marking the peak of the club’s Great American Poker Tournaments (GAPT) series.
Moneymaker, famous for his 2003 World Series of Poker victory that catalyzed a poker boom, brings his expertise to the tournament. From his beginnings as an accountant and part-time restaurant worker, Moneymaker has become a respected figure in the poker world, now serving as both an ambassador and tour founder.
Fred Guzman, President and General Manager of Daytona Beach Racing & Card Club, said: “As a highly regarded professional in the poker world, Chris Moneymaker brings considerable prestige to this event. His track record of exceeding guarantees and ensuring the highest quality of play adds an extra layer of excitement to our Great American Poker Tournaments series.”
The Great American Poker Tournaments (GAPT) series, launched in 2023, has already awarded over $1.5 million in winnings, attracting players from across Florida.
GAPT Tournament Director Byron Rodriguez said: “We are excited to be hosting another stop this year with Chris Moneymaker and Tony Burns. They have been exceptional partners, and we expect a great environment of good action and non-stop poker play. This year we are happy to announce that there will be over $600,000 in guaranteed prizes for the event.”
