Entain‘s European sportsbook brand bwin has opened applications to a “once-in-a-lifetime” opportunity for football fans as part of its partnership with the UEFA Europa League and UEFA Europa Conference League. The promotion will allow fans to first attend the UEFA Europa League Final on 22nd May to then play on the very same pitch the following day at the bwin Fans Final.
The lucky players will be coached “by football royalty” and play for a chance to win the bwin Fans Final trophy, the bookmaker said. Fans can apply via the following link.
Entain adds that, for the first time, it is inviting UK champions as part of the Pitching In Volunteer Hub initiative to win a chance of being crowned ‘Volunteer of the Season’ and secure a spot on the pitch. One volunteer spot in the bwin Fans Final will be available for each of the Trident Leagues (the Isthmian, Northern Premier, and Southern Leagues).
The Entain-backed Volunteer Hub was created for all 248 clubs that make up the Trident Leagues (the seventh level of the English football league system) and is an online portal that connects the football clubs with potential volunteers, the company says.
Prospective volunteers can proactively offer their services to clubs and register their skills – from arranging matchday activities, to pitch maintenance, ground upkeep, or providing administrative and professional support.
“The bwin Fans Final is a moment to celebrate and give back to the very people who have contributed towards helping their local football communities thrive,” Entain said in a statement.
Pitching In ambassador Stuart Pearce said: “The bwin Fans Final is a dream come true for football enthusiasts, and seeing it open up to all the volunteers and the Pitching In Volunteer Hub is a fantastic development.
“It’s an opportunity to give back to local volunteers who are the lifeblood of grassroots football and do so much for their clubs and communities. We’re encouraging volunteers who love the beautiful game to apply and look forward to seeing the excitement unfold at the bwin Fans Final later this year.”
