BetMGM has seen a 209% hike in home run bets placed due to new features being introduced within its app, according to the company.
The sports betting and iGaming operator claims to now offer “the most expansive home run markets in the industry” this baseball season, along with an enhanced parlay experience and a brand-new Grand Slam Jackpot contest.
As per BetMGM, the integration of enhanced data analytics from Angstrom Sports, which Entain – one of BetMGM’s parent companies along with MGM Resorts – completed in October last year, has fueled the enhanced performance of the app.
In the first month, BetMGM has seen a 209% increase in home run bets placed compared to the same period in 2023. “We’re setting the stage for the biggest baseball season for BetMGM to date,” Adam Greenblatt, BetMGM CEO, said in a press release.
Through sports pricing and analytics company Angstrom’s newly integrated algorithms, BetMGM is able to provide what it calls “the most extensive markets for home runs in the sports betting industry.”
Customers can select from a full field of play on the long ball, including the player to hit the first home run of the game, the longest home run of the day, and whether there will be a grand slam. BetMGM also claims to offer “the best prices in the industry for home run prop bets.”
The integration of Angstrom has also enhanced BetMGM’s baseball offering with improved same-game parlay (SGP) and SGP+ capabilities, new at-bat live betting offerings, and better responsiveness for customers.
SGPs for baseball can now be built two ways – via a dedicated SGP tab or by visiting an event page and adding selections to the bet slip, where SGPs are calculated on the spot.
The company has also introduced the $50,000 Grand Slam Jackpot, where every Friday through Sunday, customers who place a $10+ prop wager on a player to hit a home run in a select game are automatically entered into the contest.
If the player hits a grand slam in that game, the customer will win a share of a $50,000 bonus bet prize pool. The promotion has already yielded “exceptional results,” says BetMGM, with customers cashing out on the 23 grand slams hit during the promotional period so far, totaling over $500,000 in bonus bets awarded.
