Washington’s Snoqualmie Casino is set to celebrate the topping-off ceremony for its property expansion. The highest beam on the upcoming hotel tower will be placed on June 14, marking a key moment for the hotel, convention center, restaurant, and spa expansion.

For the Snoqualmie Tribe, the expansion is a historic initiative that is set to create around 500 new jobs and boost tourism in the area. The project’s architects, Bergman Walls & Associates, have incorporated architectural features that pay homage to Snoqualmie culture’s rich past as part of the expansion.

The resort’s collection of artwork complements the contemporary slant roof hotel design, which pays reference to the longhouses of the tribe’s ancestors. The project’s general contractor, Skanska Construction, will transition from steel and structural work on the outside of the expansion to the build and completion of the interiors.

The extension is set to help the Snoqualmie Indian Tribe’s commitment to both economic development and cultural preservation. Known traditionally as the People of the Moon, they were signatories to the 1855 Treaty of Point Elliott. Over 1,700 jobs in the Snoqualmie Valley are employed by tribal firms.

The casino last year extended its long-standing partnership with the NFL’s Seattle Seahawks. The collaboration began some 15 years ago when Snoqualmie Casino opened its doors, making it one of only seven such partnerships in NFL history.
