In a move to strengthen its position in the US iGaming market, FanDuel has finalized its acquisition of BeyondPlay, a B2B technology venture that specializes in online gaming software focused on player engagement.

Under the terms of the acquisition, BeyondPlay becomes part of FanDuel Casino, the company’s flagship iGaming brand. The acquisition aims to enhance FanDuel’s iGaming offering by incorporating jackpot technology and multiplayer software capabilities.

FanDuel Casino has experienced growth in the US market, capturing a 27% market share in the first quarter of 2024, along with increases in active monthly players and revenue growth. The company expects the addition of BeyondPlay’s technology to further boost its position in the expanding iGaming industry.

The deal was first announced in February. At the time, Karolina Pelc, CEO at BeyondPlay, stated: “As a founder, witnessing the journey of our startup from its humble beginnings to becoming part of the world’s leading online sports betting and iGaming company is an incredibly gratifying experience. This acquisition validates the hard work and dedication of our team and the vision behind our products.”

Following the completion of the acquisition, Karolina Pelc has been appointed as Vice President of BeyondPlay at FanDuel, part of Flutter Entertainment. Pelc expressed her excitement and gratitude for the opportunity, stating that seeing the brand name that she once came up with featured in her job title, working “for one of the most influential gaming companies in the world,” is “something pretty special”.

BeyondPlay’s products, including a jackpot management system and multiplayer software, have garnered attention in the industry. The jackpot management system offers customizable jackpot campaigns, while the multiplayer software allows multiple users to participate in the same casino game sessions and share their entertainment experience.

Since its launch in 2921, BeyondPlay has raised three rounds of investment and over €7 million in capital. It has also successfully obtained supplier operating licenses in key regulated jurisdictions, including the UK, Malta, Ontario (Canada) and Sweden.

Flutter Entertainment, the parent company of FanDuel, recently completed its transition to the New York Stock Exchange.
