FBM Foundation held the A Drop of Hope solidarity action on June 8th at the One Corporate Centre Building in Pasig City. This initiative aimed to celebrate World Blood Donor Day, observed globally on June 14th, and inspire individuals to contribute to this vital cause.

On LinkedIn, the foundation said that it gathered 50 volunteers, out of whom 46 successfully qualified to donate blood. “The act of donating blood is a selfless, life-saving gesture that significantly impacts the lives of those in need,” says the FBM Foundation.

The timing of the FBM Foundation’s Blood Drive aligned with the World Blood Donor Day celebrations on June 14th. This global campaign completes 20 years of blood giving, acknowledging the contributions of voluntary blood donors.

Given the rising need for blood donations in the region, the FBM Foundation promptly responded with this thoughtful activity,” says the foundation. “World Blood Donor Day celebrates the contributions of voluntary blood donors and FBM Foundation’s latest action was a concretization of this purpose.”

This FBM Foundation event was also in harmony with the Red Cross’ initiatives under the themes Be a Life Saver and Donate Blood and Start Saving Lives. These annual events serve as a platform to express gratitude to individuals who donate blood and raise awareness about the need for regular blood donations.

According to the foundation, the A Drop of Hope initiative exemplifies the profound impact of giving. By uniting for a common cause, the volunteers contributed to a life-saving endeavor and highlighted “the importance of community solidarity.”

Regular blood donations ensure the availability of safe blood products, and the FBM Foundation continues to champion this cause, “reinforcing the message that every drop of blood counts.”
