Safer gambling technology provider idPair is set to introduce free self-exclusion assistance in Colorado, Iowa, Michigan, and Tennessee this August. This initiative marks the first phase of the National Voluntary Self-Exclusion Program (NVSEP), aimed at helping individuals exclude themselves from gambling activities without incurring costs.

Through NVSEP, users can access a free online notary and submit a form that will self-exclude them from all four states. This service ensures that there will be no additional expenses for those seeking to self-exclude. Existing state programs and processes for receiving and handling self-exclusion information will remain unchanged.

Self-exclusion options will vary by state and may include casinos, online sports betting, online casinos, online poker, fantasy sports, and horseracing. Individuals interested in self-exclusion are encouraged to visit the NVSEP website for detailed information on supported options and properties in each jurisdiction.

For the first time ever, individuals seeking a wider level of protection can self-exclude from multiple states in a streamlined fashion. While today we announce our ability to provide free assistance with self-exclusion in each of these 4 states, more jurisdictions are on the way, as we accelerate toward our goal of removing barriers for people seeking protection across all gambling jurisdictions and products,” stated Jonathan Aiwazian, CEO of idPair.

Future phases of NVSEP aim to enhance integration and potentially connect directly with the Player Account Management (PAM) systems of gambling operators. This would enable gambling regulators to ensure that voluntary self-exclusions are processed instantaneously, improving the current processing times.

idPair noted that the announcement of NVSEP’s first phase does not establish an official relationship between the company and Colorado, Iowa, Michigan, and Tennessee. These states retain the authority to decide if they will formally join NVSEP in an integrated manner, the firm said.
