Indiana’s 13 casinos generated $210.97 million in adjusted gross revenue (AGR) in May, reflecting an increase of approximately $10.6 million from April, according to data from the Indiana Gaming Commission. This marks the third consecutive month where revenue exceeded $200 million.

Revenue growth in May, which was up 5.3% from April, was largely driven by the new Terre Haute Casino Resort, which contributed over $23 million in the past two months. Terre Haute Casino Resort, owned by Churchill Downs Inc., opened in early April and has significantly contributed to the state’s revenue, reporting $11.2 million in AGR in April and $12.4 million in May.

Other casinos also showed significant month-on-month growth. French Lick Resort’s AGR rose by 17.9%, Rising Star Casino by 15.5%, Caesars Southern Indiana by 12.7%, and Harrah’s Hoosier Park by 10.5%.

In detail, Hard Rock Casino Northern Indiana reported $37.04 million in May, slightly down by 0.4% from April’s $37.18 million. Horseshoe Indianapolis saw a 2.5% increase to $27.74 million from $27.06 million. Caesars Southern Indiana grew to $22.13 million from $19.63 million, marking a 12.7% increase. Horseshoe Hammond increased by 2.6% to $20.81 million from $20.29 million, and Harrah’s Hoosier Park rose by 10.5% to $20.56 million from $18.60 million.

Bally’s Evansville reported $14.73 million, up 6.7% from $13.81 million in April. Ameristar Casino saw a slight decline of 1.3% to $14.63 million from $14.82 million. Hollywood Lawrenceburg reported $12.84 million, an 8.0% increase from $11.89 million. Terre Haute Casino, the newest addition, reported $12.25 million, up 9.8% from $11.16 million. Blue Chip Casino’s revenue rose by 2.3% to $10.66 million from $10.42 million. Belterra Casino reported $7.06 million, up 9.3% from $6.47 million. French Lick Resort reported $6.86 million, a significant increase of 17.9% from $5.82 million, and Rising Star Casino reported $3.66 million, up 15.5% from $3.17 million.

Overall, the consistent performance of Indiana’s casinos, along with the potential legalization of online casinos, suggests a promising outlook for future revenue growth. If online casinos were legalized and taxed at 15%, Indiana could generate at least $15 million monthly from iGaming, according to forecasts.
