Rivers Casino Pittsburgh has completed a $6.6 million property refresh, which includes the addition of the new Bridges Ballroom, an upgrade to the existing Rivers Ballroom, and new amenities at the North Shore destination.

The renovation brings over 50,000 total square feet of reservable and rentable event space into the property’s inventory. Rivers Casino opened in 2009 and celebrates its 15th anniversary in August.

With the stadiums and other nearby attractions on the North Shore — not to mention our own full-service gaming floor, BetRivers Sportsbook and The Landing Hotel — our events calendar fills up quickly,” said Bud Green, general manager of Rivers Casino Pittsburgh. “We’re happy to provide new spaces and more dates for hosting conferences, weddings and special events.”

Bridges Ballroom

The new Bridges Ballroom, a 7,044-square-foot second-floor venue overlooking the Ohio River, comes in response to ongoing demand for event space. The all-new space offers a balcony and panoramic views of the riverfront, Mount Washington and the Fort Pitt and West End bridges.

Bridges Ballroom comes with comprehensive in-house event planning services, says Rivers Casino. Of particular note, the property’s executive chef and team of cooks and servers deliver “a custom-curated menu prepared on-site, accommodating everything from receptions to plated dinners, buffets and more.”

Bridges Ballroom can be sectioned into three smaller spaces that can be individually reserved: the 1,844-square-foot West End Room, the 1,164-square-foot Fort Duquesne Room and the 4,036-square-foot Fort Pitt Room.

Meeting/breakout rooms

Four new private meeting rooms also make their debut as part of the Bridges Ballroom launch, including the 1,140-square-foot Clemente Room, the 472-square-foot Warhol Room, the 470-square-foot Carson Room, and a 348-square-foot executive boardroom. These meeting rooms are available separately, combined or as prefunction areas for Bridges Ballroom events.

The Event Center and Rivers Ballroom

Just down the promenade from Bridges Ballroom are two other venues: The Event Center and Rivers Ballroom.

The Event Center, which opened in 2019 with its 25,000-square-foot grand hall, is a Western Pennsylvania favorite for both expos and ticketed shows. Boyz II Men; K.C. & The Sunshine Band; Theresa Caputo, the “Long Island Medium”; and many other headliners have performed there.

Rivers Ballroom, which opened in 2011, also got a makeover. The casino’s 7,873-square-foot inaugural banquet space has been refreshed and reappointed, with all-new carpet and finishings. It’s comprised of three spaces: the 2,764-square-foot Allegheny Room, the 2,533-square-foot Monongahela Room and the 2,576-square-foot Ohio Room. They are available separately or rolled into one. Rivers Ballroom offers a dedicated prefunction area, a balcony, and city and river views.

Starbucks and Black Card Room

The recent renovations kicked off last fall with the opening of a standalone, full-service Starbucks Coffee, located adjacent to Rivers’ arrival elevators. Additionally, the “ultra-exclusive” Black Card Room, a dedicated lounge for Rush Rewards Players Club members who achieve the highest-tier status, opened just off the gaming floor at the end of last year.
