Casino giant MGM Resorts International has announced a new partnership with the New York Yankees, designating the company as a “proud partner” of the baseball franchise. The two organizations will collaborate on VIP experiences for MGM Rewards members and team fans, including the opportunity to watch batting practice from the warning track and throw out a ceremonial first pitch at Yankee Stadium.
MGM Resorts will also have a brand placement at Yankee Stadium on LED signage, first and third base rotational signage, and its logo appearing on the back of the pitcher’s mound during live local television broadcasts of select games.

Under the partnership, MGM Resorts’ Empire City Casino also plans to host New York Yankees-themed fan activities and experiences involving active Major League Baseball (MLB) players, as well as alumni.

The partnership comes as New York advances its licensing process for up to three new downstate casinos, a race in which MGM is participating, seeking the ability to expand operations at the existing Empire City Casino. MGM Resorts’ proposal for the property is one of 11 bids. Domingo added that the casino is well-positioned to increase the number of local workers “when a full-scale commercial casino license is secured.”
The deal also builds on MGM’s existing ties with the MLB. In November 2018, MGM Resorts and Major League Baseball formed a partnership in the US and Japan, designating the company as the first Official Gaming Partner of MLB and Official Entertainment Partner of MLB. Additionally, MGM Resorts has been an Official Partner of MLB Players, Inc. since 2022.
