The Nevada Gaming Control Board (NGCB) has issued a cease-and-desist order to Canadian company Playgon Interactive Inc. and its affiliate Bitrate Productions, citing the production of live gaming content from Clark County without proper licensing.

The companies have been producing blackjack, roulette and baccarat games with unlicensed live dealers for online casinos worldwide, Nevada regulators said.

The Control Board, in a letter dated July 18, notified Playgon Interactive that it must cease operations on Friday, July 26. The letter emphasized that the company must be licensed to deliver online content from the state.

The NGCB also advised Playgon that their outside legal counsel, on two separate occasions in 2016, represented on behalf of the company that Bitrate’s activity would not require NGC licensing because the content would be used for entertainment purposes only. “At some point, however, Bitrate’s activities went beyond social gaming,” the letter said.

The NGCB will take all necessary actions to enforce Nevada’s gaming laws and regulations,” it added.
