The recently opened Fontainebleau Las Vegas resort has been named one of TIME magazine’s World’s Greatest Places 2024, marking a significant accolade for the 67-story luxury property.

Fontainebleau Las Vegas, which opened its doors on December 13, 2023, after 20 years of development, joins a prestigious list of 100 destinations recognized by TIME magazine. The list, which started in 2018, highlights locations that offer new and exciting experiences, chosen through nominations by TIME’s international correspondents and contributors, as well as an application process.

“This accolade is a testament to our incredible members and Fontainebleau Las Vegas’ commitment to luxury, sophistication, and extraordinary service,” said Maurice Wooden, President of Fontainebleau Las Vegas. “TIME’s ‘World’s Greatest Places’ list is a celebration of must-experience destinations around the globe, and it is an honor to be included.”

TIME magazine noted the resort’s impact on the city, stating: “Along with Sphere, the $2.3 billion music venue that opened off-Strip last autumn, featuring the largest LED screen with the highest resolution in the world, Fontainebleau is pulling the city’s center of gravity further northward, away from its traditional epicenter.”

This recognition also underscores the evolving landscape of Las Vegas, which has been featured on the list twice before: the Empathy Suite at Palms Casino Resort was featured in 2019 and the city itself in 2021 for its excess and innovation.

Other destinations featured in the 2024 list include Highland Base in Kerlingarfjoll, Iceland; Casa Lucia in Buenos Aires; CPKC Stadium in Kansas City, Missouri; and the Sanxingdui Museum in Guanghan, China.
