Foxwoods Resort Casino has reported $31.2 million in slot revenue for the month of July. This figure has resulted in an $8 million direct payment to the State of Connecticut in accordance with the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation’s revenue contribution agreement.

Since 1993, the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation has directly deposited over $4.6 billion of Foxwoods’ slot revenue into the state’s budget fund.

Earlier this month, Foxwoods celebrated the grand opening of the new Club Newport, a high-limit gaming amenity encompassing about 10,000 sq. ft. The space features 35 high-limit table games, including mini baccarat, blackjack, craps, pai gow poker, pai gow tiles, face-up pai gow and roulette.

The new area is a “reimagining” of an earlier version of Club Newport. New decor includes a gold vaulted ceiling supported by bronze arches and a burgundy glass fixture, chandeliers and “warm pearlescent wallcovering that wraps the room, trimmed with a cream and gold base and crowned with gold and fluted glass trim.”

Two private rooms offer big table baccarat, a rare option in most casinos these days, according to the casino. Foxwoods calls Club Newport “a groundbreaking new space designed to cater to our most distinguished guests.”

Apart from the Club Newport’s makeover, Foxwoods has other major improvements planned, including a grand bar spanning the length of the Grand Pequot Casino area, due in the fall. Renovations of hotel rooms and other gaming areas are scheduled to follow.
