The Quapaw Nation, owner of the Saracen Casino Resort in Pine Bluff, has announced that its new $250 million Hotel and Event Center is set to open in the fall of 2025.

This expansive project, spanning 400,000 square feet and featuring 320 luxury rooms along with a 1,600-seat event center, will elevate the Quapaw Nation’s total investment in Arkansas to over $500 million.

Wena Supernaw, Chair of the Quapaw Nation’s Business Committee, emphasized the significance of this development for the tribe. “We love Arkansas; it is an important part of our ancestral homeland. For the Quapaw Nation to return with something so big and visible is a source of great pride,” Supernaw stated.

Since it opened its door back in October 2020, the Saracen Casino Resort has become a major gaming destination in the state, housing 1,700 slot machines, 40 table games, BetSaracen—the largest sportsbook in Arkansas—and the state’s only poker room. The resort also includes the Red Oak Steakhouse, which has been recognized as Arkansas’ best restaurant for three consecutive years.

Matt Harkness, General Manager of Saracen, highlighted the successful operations of the casino as a catalyst for this new phase of development. “Saracen’s positive results since opening over four years ago have put us in a position to build this hotel and event center that will set a new standard in the region,” Harkness noted. He attributed the project’s progression to the dedication of the Saracen employees and the strategic leadership of the Quapaw Nation.

Jim Burns, Chief Financial Officer, pointed out that this expansion will further diversify the resort’s offerings, thereby enhancing the financial stability of the operations.

Carlton Saffa, Chief Market Officer, expressed excitement about the ongoing construction, stating: “The pair of 300-foot cranes speak for themselves, and from miles away. We are excited and looking forward to expanding our hospitality offerings.”

Saracen opened its Pine Bluff casino in October 2020 after voters approved a constitutional amendment allowing a casino to be built and licensed in Jefferson County.
