The Rio Hotel & Casino has announced the completion of the first phase of its extensive multi-year renovation project, being led by the resort’s new management. Dreamscape Companies took over operations of the Las Vegas property in late 2023.

Patrick Miller, President and CEO of Rio Hotel & Casino, said the project’s goal is to revitalize the property while maintaining its renowned ambiance. “Our first priority was to modernize and revitalize the property while preserving the vibrant atmosphere and excitement that made the Rio a pioneer in Las Vegas hospitality,” Miller stated. He added that the renovations will offer an elevated yet approachable luxury experience for both locals and visitors.”

Phase one included significant upgrades across the property. Among the changes are eight new dining destinations, a complete remodel of the 220,000 square feet of meetings and convention space, and a revamped pool district featuring four distinct pools. Additionally, more than 900 new slot machines have been installed, along with new carpeting throughout the gaming areas.

“With the addition of new dining destinations, refreshed spaces throughout the resort, and one of the city’s most rewarding loyalty programs, these renovations mark the beginning of a new era,” added Miller.

One of the highlights of the renovation is a new lighting feature, designed by Chris Kuroda and Andrew Giffin. The duo utilized over three miles of programmable LEDs to create a constantly evolving light show, visible from across the Las Vegas skyline. According to Miller, no two shows are the same.

The next phase of the transformation is set to begin later this year.
