Lotto.com, a New Jersey-based digital lottery courier, has officially launched its services in Massachusetts, furthering its expansion across the U.S. This marks the company’s 11th active state, as it delivers a service that allows players to purchase official state lottery tickets, including Powerball, Mega Millions, and scratch cards, via a digital platform.
Massachusetts, known as the top-performing lottery per capita in the country, presents a lucrative opportunity for Lotto.com. In 2023, the state’s lottery sales exceeded $6.1 billion, placing it among the largest lottery markets nationwide.
“We are thrilled to launch in Massachusetts, the best-performing lottery per capita in the country,” said Thomas Metzger, CEO of Lotto.com Inc. “We also look forward to bringing incremental funding to the communities across the Commonwealth that the Lottery supports.”

What sets Lotto.com apart in Massachusetts is its introduction of digital scratch tickets, a first for the state. The company initially launched these offerings in 2022, becoming the first digital courier to provide scratch tickets online in the U.S. Now available in seven of the 11 states where the company operates, this feature allows players to enjoy traditional scratch-off games from the convenience of their mobile devices.
In entering Massachusetts, Lotto.com joins a competitive market already featuring other lottery courier services like Jackpocket and Jackpot.com. However, with its unique ability to offer digital scratch tickets, Lotto.com aims to differentiate itself. Massachusetts customers can now access a full suite of digital lottery products, providing a one-stop platform for purchasing and managing their lottery participation.
The launch in Massachusetts comes amid a growing demand for digital lottery services across the U.S. This year has seen a notable increase in high-profile deals and expansions within the industry. In May, DraftKings acquired Jackpocket for $750 million.
Shortly after, Jackpot.com secured a partnership with the Associated Press, becoming the official provider of nationwide lottery results across AP’s network.
As of mid-July, Google also began allowing lottery courier ads in over 33 states.
Massachusetts’ own lottery landscape is also set for further digital transformation. In July, Governor Maura Healey signed a law allowing online lottery sales and e-instant games.
The Massachusetts State Lottery Commission is in the process of selecting an operator for the state-run online lottery system, which is expected to launch by late 2025. This move follows a push for online gaming options, which has grown stronger since the legalization of online sports betting in 2022.
