The Circa casino-hotel in downtown Las Vegas has completed a major expansion, adding 106 rooms in response to ongoing demand since its opening in late 2020. The nine-month project, finished in October, increases Circa’s total room count to 618 and includes four new suites.

The hotel, which opened as the first ground-up casino in downtown Las Vegas in four decades, has seen strong occupancy, particularly on weekends, prompting Circa CEO Derek Stevens to greenlight the expansion.

Each room is equipped with an Alexa smart device, high ceilings, multiple charging outlets, and a mini-fridge in every room — an amenity Stevens noted as essential in Las Vegas. “When you come to such a wonderful culinary mecca like Vegas, people want to take their leftovers,” he said, as per Las Vegas Review-Journal“There’s much higher demand for refrigerators in Vegas, I think, than other cities. And more and more people have medication that they need refrigerated.”

The expansion includes Circa’s most popular option, the nearly 1,200-square-foot sunset suite. This spacious suite, which features a living room with a pull-out couch, a wet bar, and a primary bedroom tucked away from the bustling Stadium Swim and Fremont Street Experience, has quickly become a favorite for its privacy and city views.

The expansion also responds to a growing number of group travelers, adding premium single-king rooms that connect with adjoining rooms for families or friends who want to stay nearby.

This project marks the third phase of Circa’s ongoing growth, following the addition of a ballroom and meeting space in September 2022. Stevens holds a 6.5-acre parcel of land nearby, though he said there are no immediate plans for development, as he waits for other hotel and apartment projects to progress.

Stevens also hinted at ongoing demand for luxury accommodations in downtown Las Vegas. “I thought downtown needed more high-end hotel rooms when we were designing Circa and the rooms filled up,” he said. “I think downtown could still use a lot more hotel rooms. I’m excited about what’s going on next to us.”
