The Connecticut Lottery Corporation (CLC), in partnership with Fanatics Sportsbook and Sportech Inc., has launched its 11th retail sportsbook at Sportech’s Winners facility in Norwalk, just off Interstate 95.
The new location at 24 Burnell Blvd. features betting windows, eight self-service kiosks, and high-definition TVs throughout the venue. Sports bettors can wager on a wide range of markets, including professional and college football, basketball, hockey, baseball, tennis, soccer, golf, MMA, and boxing.
Beginning Tuesday, November 19, sports enthusiasts can head to the Winners Norwalk location to place their wagers in preparation for the much-anticipated grand opening, which will take place on Sunday, November 24.
The sportsbook’s operating hours are Monday and Tuesday from 11:30 a.m. to 6 p.m., Wednesday and Thursday from 11:30 a.m. to 8:15 p.m., Friday from 11:30 a.m. to 10 p.m., Saturday from 10:30 a.m. to 10 p.m., and Sunday from 10:30 a.m. to 8:15 p.m. The Norwalk Common Council recently approved Sunday betting, overriding state restrictions that require local approval.
The Norwalk facility joins ten other retail sportsbooks in Connecticut. The eleven sportsbooks are located in the XL Center in Hartford, Total Mortgage Arena in Bridgeport, Bobby V’s in Stamford and Windsor Locks, Murphy’s Pub & Sports Bar in Manchester, Sports Haven in New Haven, and Winners in Hartford, Milford, New Britain, Waterbury, and now Norwalk.
Fanatics Sportsbook also offers a mobile app for iOS and Android, where users can earn up to 10% back in FanCash, a loyalty program redeemable for bonus bets or merchandise. Retail customers can begin earning FanCash by signing up for a free Fanatics Player Card at a retail counter.
Fanatics Sportsbook took over as Connecticut’s exclusive bookmaker in December 2023, succeeding Chicago-based Rush Street Interactive, which exited the market citing profitability concerns.
Despite the expansion, the state’s sports betting operations have seen mixed results. The XL Center in Hartford, another Fanatics location, ended its fiscal year with a $500,000 loss. Michael Freimuth, executive director of the Capital Region Development Authority, attributed the loss in part to the transition between vendors.
The Norwalk site is part of the CLC’s broader effort to grow its retail betting presence. Andrew Walter, CLC’s director of sports betting, said the organization aims to establish additional locations.
