PENN Entertainment has announced the launch of a new iCasino game, Multiplayer Blackjack, which is now available via the Hollywood Casino online platform in New Jersey.
Multiplayer Blackjack, described as a “first-of-its-kind” original game for Hollywood Casino, was developed by PENN Game Studios, the company’s in-house game development studio.
Multiplayer Blackjack mixes social gaming with elements of live casino, which allows users to create a customized private table to play alongside friends or select from a lobby of existing public tables.
The game offers a variety of features geared towards interaction with fellow players, including side bets and bespoke emote cards to react to action throughout play.
Additionally, through a special viewer mode, up to 999 players can watch tables and utilize the Bet Behind feature to back other players’ hands. Additionally, other options such as Lightning tables and an Early Lock-In feature let experienced players move at their own pace, PENN notes.
“By nature, blackjack is a communal game and this new multiplayer option was built to replicate the feeling of sitting at a live casino table,” said Jason Birney, Vice President, Operations, PENN Interactive.
“Multiplayer Blackjack is another fun and engaging iCasino game developed by our incredibly accomplished PENN Game Studios team. Having an in-house team is an important asset as we work to introduce compelling new games and differentiate our online casino product.”
Multiplayer Blackjack will roll out across PENN’s other online casino jurisdictions, subject to receipt of regulatory approvals. Hollywood Casino, accessible through the ESPN BET app, is available in Michigan, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and West Virginia.
PENN also recently announced the planned launch of a standalone Hollywood Casino app in Pennsylvania in early 2025, subject to regulatory approvals.
