Brazilian sports betting operator EstrelaBet has achieved another important approval in the country’s ongoing licensing process for bookmakers, ahead of the planned launch of a regulated market in January.
The Prizes and Betting Secretariat of the Ministry of Treasury (SPA) confirmed that the company complied with all the requirements stipulated in Ordinance No.827, and other current legal and regulatory standards, allowing the company to proceed with the payment of the grant fee and the delivery of the additional documentation necessary to issue the license.
As one of the first operators to apply for and advance in the licensing process, the company said it has demonstrated “its commitment to compliance and its readiness to operate in accordance with the rules of the regulated market,” which comes into effect on January 1, 2025.
The next step of the licensing process includes presenting the technical certificate for its platform and integration with providers, in addition to formalizing the payment of the grant to the federal government. “With this, EstrelaBet consolidates itself as a reference in the sector, combining innovation, security, and responsibility,” as per the company’s announcement.
Already adopting globally recognized practices, the operator notes that it promotes responsible gaming through tools such as self-exclusion, deposit limits, and temporary breaks.
In collaboration with FUMEC University, EstrelaBet offers free psychological support and uses advanced technology to identify and mitigate risk behaviors, emphasizing its commitment to users’ health and well-being.
EstrelaBet won the title of main Brazilian betting operator at the SiGMA Americas Awards in 2023 and 2024. In addition, it received the awards for ‘Best Sports Betting Operator in Brazil’ and ‘Rising Star of the Year’ by the SBC Awards Latinoamérica 2022. The company has offices in Belo Horizonte and São Paulo.
As a sponsor of sporting and entertainment events, it supports CazeTV, the musical reality show “Estrela da Casa” (TV Globo), the Brazilian Futsal and Beach Soccer teams, and was the only one in the betting sector to officially sponsor the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup. In addition, the company sponsors clubs such as Internacional, Vasco da Gama, América-MG, Ponte Preta, CRB, and Botafogo-SP, as well as the “Beira-Rio” stadium.
