Malta celebrated workforce excellence at the National Worker of the Year 2024 ceremony, held at the Westin Dragonara Resort in St Julians on Saturday night. Eman Pulis, founder of The SiGMA Group, received The Best Entrepreneur award during the evening’s accolades.

Individuals and teams across diverse sectors were recognized for their dedication, innovation, and impact during the gala. Under the patronage of President Myriam Spiteri Debono, the annual event aimed to showcase “the country’s commitment to celebrating work as a pillar of societal progress.”

Pulis, whose initiatives have put Malta at the forefront of the global iGaming sector, has demonstrated remarkable foresight in creating platforms for technological innovation, economic growth, and networking, and his initiatives to create a robust global iGaming community,” SiGMA said of his victory at the event.

Pulis was recognized for his role as founder of SiGMA, whose international influence, growth, and outreach “exemplify how entrepreneurial leadership can transcend borders and industries.”

Reflecting on his award, Pulis remarked: “This recognition belongs to my team and the global gaming community that continues to inspire us to innovate and grow. Together, we are building bridges that connect talent and opportunity.”

Angela Agius, Chairperson of Premju tal Haddiema, praised Pulis’s win: “I am delighted that Eman was recognized as Entrepreneur of the Year. It is both significant for Malta and well-deserved by him and his team.”

The evening also featured a Lifetime Achievement Award for former President of Malta Marie-Louise Coleiro Preca, honoring her contributions to social equity and public service.

The Worker of the Year 2024, was awarded to Michael Bajada, a stalwart of the social care sector with a 35-year career dedicated to improving the lives of persons with disabilities.

  • Eman Pulis (SiGMA Group) – The Best Entrepreneur
  • Muriel Grech (MG Projects Ltd) – The Most Inspiring Youth Leader
  • Her Excellency Marie-Louise Coleiro Preca – Lifetime Achievement Award
