Between April 7 and 10, entrepreneurs, executives, regulators, and other members of the iGaming industry will gather in São Paulo to attend BiS SiGMA Americas 2025, to be held at the Transamerica Expocenter.

To learn about the preparations and expectations for one of the most anticipated trade shows of the year, Yogonet spoke with Carlos Cardama, CEO of Games Magazine Brazil, and together with Alessandro Valente, the creator of BiS SiGMA Americas.

According to Cardama, with about three months to go until the event, there are already more than 260 companies confirmed and about 90% of the space reserved. “This reflects the growth of the sector and the worldwide interest in the Brazilian market, which is now regulated,” he said.

2025 marks the first year of the regulated market in Brazil, with all regulations coming into force. What role will this topic play in the BiS SiGMA Americas program?

This is a moment we have been waiting for in our industry for a long time – the regulation of the betting market in Brazil. It will be the centerpiece of the 2025 edition. The event will address not only the new regulations in place, but also the practical impact on operators, suppliers, and other stakeholders.

We will have panels dedicated to the topic, with the presence of regulators, specialized lawyers, and industry leaders, as well as technical workshops on compliance and adaptation to legal requirements.

The regulated market represents a historic transformation, and BiS SiGMA Americas has contributed greatly to building this regulated market scenario. Our first post-regulation edition will be the meeting point for market leaders and decision-makers to discuss the challenges and opportunities that come with this change.

In addition to gambling regulation, what trends, verticals, and technologies do you expect to be highlighted at the 2025 edition of the event?

With the Brazilian market entering a new regulated era, some verticals and technologies are emerging as key pillars for successful and sustainable operations. Among them, I would highlight KYC, digital identification, and compliance solutions as crucial areas to ensure the security and transparency of activities.

These technologies enable operators to meet new regulatory requirements, protect consumers, and combat illegal activities. In addition, monitoring, anti-fraud, and payment tools are becoming even more relevant, helping to strengthen the integrity of financial transactions and reduce operational risks.

These innovations not only raise safety standards in the industry but also promote an environment of greater trust among operators, regulators, and consumers.

BiS SiGMA Americas 2025 will be the ideal setting to explore these trends, presenting the latest technological innovations and promoting discussions on how they can be applied to align the Brazilian market with global best practices. It is an opportunity to connect local and international players who are at the forefront of these transformations.

In September 2024 it was announced that the event already had 200 companies confirmed and over 70% of the space sold. With about three months to go, can you give us an update on these figures? Has there been any growth compared to the previous edition?

I am very happy to share that we are going to meet expectations. As of today, we have more than 260 companies confirmed, and almost 90% of the space already booked. This is a reflection of the growth of the sector and the worldwide interest in the Brazilian market, which is now regulated.

Compared to the previous edition, there will be a significant increase in terms of exhibitors. This year, we have increased the commercial area of the tradeshow by more than 50%, with more than 35,000 m² in the total environment of the event. We are also expecting record attendance, with more than 15,000 participants expected, including a third of international visitors.

What impact do you expect BiS SiGMA Americas 2025 to have on the gaming and betting sector in Brazil?

Our goal has always been to bring about positive changes for the sector. We are aware that we have actively contributed to building the regulation of the sector. In 2025, we want to reinforce the importance of the regulated market as a safer, more transparent, and competitive environment.

The event will be a showcase for innovation and networking, facilitating strategic connections with players from other sectors that join our industry, and generating new business opportunities. We also aim to leave an educational legacy, bringing high-level discussions that will help shape the future of the gaming and betting market in Brazil and Latin America as a whole.

In 2025, the debate on the legalization of casinos, bingos, and jogo do bicho will continue in the Senate. Do you think there is a possibility that the project will be approved and sanctioned or will the pressure of some sectors, such as the evangelical bench, prevent its approval?

It is a complex matter, but I believe that the approval of the project will depend a lot on the capacity for dialogue and the search for consensus. There are strong economic arguments in favor of legalization, such as job creation, investment, and tax collection.

However, the resistance of more conservative sectors, such as the evangelical bench, is significant and cannot be ignored. What I consider fundamental is a transparent and well-informed debate, based on data and the experiences of other countries. The presence of political leaders and experts debating this topic at BiS SiGMA Americas can help bring new perspectives to the issue.
