Caesars Entertainment has announced the appointment of Jesse Lynn and Ted Papapostolou to its Board of Directors, effective immediately, pending customary regulatory approvals. Both executives currently serve in senior leadership roles at Icahn Enterprises.
The addition of Lynn, General Counsel of Icahn Enterprises, and Papapostolou, the company’s Chief Financial Officer, expands Caesars’ Board to 12 members, 10 of whom are independent directors.
Tom Reeg, CEO of Caesars Entertainment, said: “I would like to welcome Jesse and Ted to the Board. Jesse and Ted bring diverse and relevant experience that will assist the Board in maximizing value for all shareholders.”
Carl Icahn, Chairman of Icahn Enterprises, added: “I have great respect for Tom Reeg and the senior management team and what they have accomplished since the merger in 2020.
“We look forward to working with Tom and the Board to maximize value for all shareholders, including by exploring strategic alternatives for the company’s underappreciated digital business.”
Icahn Enterprises and its affiliates have agreed to standard standstill and voting provisions. Details of the agreement will be included in a Form 8-K filing with the SEC.
Lynn previously practiced corporate law in New York and also currently serves on the board of JetBlue Airways. He also held board positions at companies including Xerox, FirstEnergy, and Herbalife. Lynn holds a B.A. from the University of Michigan and a J.D. from Boston University School of Law.
Meanwhile, Papapostolou previously held multiple leadership roles at the company since 2007 and is also Chairman of Viskase Companies and CVR Energy. He holds an M.B.A. from St. John’s University and a B.B.A. from Hofstra University.
