The figure represents a 46.1% increase on the previous record of $41.2m, which was set in September of this year, while the total was also 73.5% higher than $34.7m in October 2020.
The majority of wagers – $31.1m – were placed via mobile in October, while players also bet $29.0m at retail sportsbooks in the state.
Twin River proved the more successful of the state’s two retail-licensed operators, taking a total of $21.3m in wagers during October, ahead of sister property Tiverton Casino with $7.7m.
